How do I use Suse's Yast to install packages from alternate repositories?

From what I have read so far Suse's Yast servers the same function as Red Hats YUM and Debians Apt programs?

Is there a list of repositories an instructions on how to configure alternate repositories?

you can actually install Apt in SuSE, but I had trouble installing it

Open the KDE Control Center.
Click on YaST2 Modules.
Click on Software.
Click on Change Source of Installation.
Click on the button at the bottom of the dialogue box, and supply the root password.
When the next dialogue box comes up, click on Add, and add the path to the alternate source of rpm's. When you are done, just go through the normal YaST procedure to install software, and you should see the rpm's listed from the alternate source, as well as the rpm's listed from the SuSE cd's.

Suse 9.1 Personnel edition

This is a barebone linux system. Which is kind of what I was looking for but I miss gnome.
Suse linux 9.1 Personnel edition just doesn't come with most of the files needed to install new software.

Apt and Yum have spoiled me... When I tried to install Apt4Rpm I got dependence errors and don't have time to search all day to find each and dependence of a dependence.

The Yast tool is by far one of the coolest system configuration utilities I have seen in any version of linux. Setting up Suse had to be the easyiest install possible.

I think I am going to just go back to fedora until I can get a full blown copy of Suse 9.1 Professional.
