How do i install socks ss5 proxy on Apache 2.2?

I'm trying to install Socks SS5 proxy for personal use. I'm currently using a free host but will eventually be moving the site to a paid one. For now I'm on a sub domain at Freetzi.com. I'm trying to do this from an android smartphone. I don't have a computer but can use one at the library if absolutely necessary.

I have MySQL and PhpMyAdmin. The server is Apache 2.2. I have an FTP client app installed on my phone and have already uploaded all the files to the site.

Every tutorial I find on the web is for Rhel/CentOs. I have no clue if my server uses either of them or not. All I know is that its an Apache 2.2.

Also all the tutorials tell me to use rpmbuilder but don't say how or why.

I haven't had my own site for several years but remember in the past installing scripts with MySQL. Can't I just create a database and run a MySQL query to set this up?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. I'll subscribe to this thread so if someone is able to help and I'm not here I'll get notified and come right away unless I'm unable to.

Then ask your hosting provider. If you're not capable of finding out yourself then their help desk should indicate if you are allowed to install software yourself or not.

Because the tutorials you've read show the (only?) package available for download is a source package.

NP, let us know what they say and we'll move on to the next stage (or not ;-p).
