How can i update my kernel and from where?


Hi all well i was wondering how can i compile a new kernel and make it to replace my old one so can anyone tell me how can i do this?? and from where can i get kernel 2.6
am using Fedora Core 1 and SuSe 9.0

The standart process includes downloading the latest kernel from kernel.org (currently 2.6.7) and uncompressing it to /usr/src/ . Then search the forum for a thread with instructions on compiling the kernel (here is full with such a threads) If you have old kernel source you can also download a patch which is much smaller and makes the download faster. well i`ve visisted the URL u gave me and i`ve found this http://www.al.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/v2.6/
so can u tell me where to find the steps for updating the kernel coz here i`ve got millions of threads that are updated every second
