How can i unpack *.img with ext2 format in winodws os?
hi,all
i encountereded a problem recently.i often unpack some compressed file to floppy disk, but i found a ext2 format package.so how can i unpack *.img with ext2 format in winodws os? else tools? such as zip、rar tools?
Thank you in advanced.
i never heard of tools reading ext2 file system in windows. put the files on a linux box and save them on a floppy formatted as fat32 with windows...
ext2 is the format of the floppy, not a compressed archive or similar
Reading ext2 in Windows is not a problem, but I completely fail to understand what the OP is asking. What is an "ext2 format package" Usually .img files are images of filesystems, for instance you can download an image of a boot disk to install Linux.
and the img usually is ext2 file system and the size is 1.44M,therefore i want to extract it to virtual floppy drive ,cuz i have no really floppy drive.
If it's an image of a floppy it's probably a FAT filesystem. Ext2 is kind of wasteful to use on a floppy. I think you are looking for something like VFD
