Unhappy HELp with Sixpack.

I'm still in the search for an Endnote replacement for RH 8.0.

I've heard that the best reference manager is "sixpack". I've tried installing it on RH8.0 and havent been able to get it running. I installed:

perl-bp and sixpack from sorceforge, but sixpack also needs perl-Tk module. I installed perl-Tk-800.024-1 from that I got from rpm-find .

Sixpack rpm's detected the perl-Tk and installed correctly, but when I wanted to run sixpack by typing the comand "bib", the bloody thing gave me the follwoing error:

**** Failed to load Tk. Sixpack requires the perl/tk module for the GUI to work
Bareword "Tk::break" not allowed while "strict subs" in use at /usr/bin/bib line 5105.
Execution of /usr/bin/bib aborted due to compilation errors.

HELP....I need to get this thing running, I'm going nuts. I've tried installing different types of perl-Tk distros and nothing works. If anybody's got sixpack running on RH8, please give us directions...greatly appreciate it.

Hi,

I am not a RH user. I am running sixpack on Mandrake with no problem. But the following may help you.

You may wish to look at
http://erizo.ucdavis.edu/~dmk/software/

In this page the author says :

"Recently, I have had difficulty finding decent RPMs for perl-Tk." and he gives a link to somme RH Tk pakages that worked for him.

sixpack needs something else to wok

Sorry for posting on this previous thread, but I haven't been able to get sixpack to work, although I followed the link suggested by ltdm and installed the additional perl-bp library.

This is my error message, after bib:

Quote:
**** Failed to load XML::XQL. Without it sciserver searches are not possible
grep: ./bp-*pl: No such file or directory
grep: ./bp-*pl: No such file or directory
grep: ./bp-s-*pl: No such file or directory
grep: ./bp-c-*pl: No such file or directory
804.027Can't locate bp.pl in @INC (@INC contains: /etc/perl /usr/local/lib/perl/5.8.8 /usr/local/share/perl/5.8.8 /usr/lib/perl5 /usr/share/perl5 /usr/lib/perl/5.8 /usr/share/perl/5.8 /usr/local/lib/site_perl .) at /usr/bin/bib line 379.
I will appreciate suggestions, for me and many users willing to replace EndNote.

Hi,

Did you install perl-XML-XQL ?
If not please do.

If they are not already intalled you may also need to install :
perl-Parse-Yapp
perl-XML-RegExp
