Help with Installation. "No rule to make target.."

I'm trying to install ndiswrapper given the instructions on wikipedia thank I can't link to unfortunately.

First i was having a problem find the kernel sources in the specified directory, but i did urpmi kernel-source and it asked me to install from a disk. So I installed the source and compiled it.

and I linked the made sure there was a path to the compiled version as it says in the installation instructions.

So after that, I went to the ndiswrapper directory and I did "make", but I get the following error;
"No rule to make target 'modules' ".

I'm a linux noob and I don't know what the possible cause to this error is. Please help.
