Help installing a .pcf font (FC5)

Hi group,

I have a .pcf font (nexus.pcf) that I want to use for terminals, .etc on Fedora Core 5.

Do I need to convert this in order to add it? I cannot seem to add this font using the kfontinstall app.

Any other app I should use? Does Fedora support .pcf fonts?

Thanks.

Job

Actually Fedora has nothing to do with it. You need to see if the equivalent X font is available.

What do you mean by "X font"?? X-Windows uses a variety of standard font formats--ttf, type 1, etc.

Google "pcf fonts" give a whole bunch of hits. Quick scan tells me that pcf should work in a typical Linux system.

Yes, I heard PCF binaries compiled for Windows sometimes are not 100% compatible with X. It is better if you get the PCF binaries compiled for X.
