Help i've broken kde and konq

Hi all
yesterday i uninstalled open office using yast, to install the latest version. indoing so it managed to install kdelibs3.3 and qt3 3.3 as well now i can't run konq, it just doesn't open. but i can open it in super user more and it works fine. If i log on as root or another user i get the kde crash handler dialogue come up no matter what i try. Running 9.1 personal, kde 3.2. Not sure of the proper way to put this right, i don't want to do any more damage and would prefer not to reinstall as i've got it just the way i like it (well not now it isn't ).
any advice would be gratrfully recieved

Ted

Hi and welcome to LQ,

Are you sure that the uninstall of openoffice is making your konq not work? Or why not just go to an alternate like Mozilla Firefox.

i think it was the installation of kdelibs 3.3 that did the damage. Firefox and opera work fine but kde appears to be screwed up.

If anyone could run through the best or preferably easiest way to upgrade the whole of kde that would sort it out i think?

Thanks
