Angry help: how to uninstall KOffice?

Hi there...

I wanted the vector drawing application called Karbon14, so I had to download the ENTIRE Koffice suite to get it. (SUCKS). The RPM(s) kept giving me "failed dependencies" errors, so I downloaded the source (tar.gz) and compiled it myself.

[rant] It took me more than 6 hours to compile the thing. It compiled with no errors, but wouldn't run a darn thing. Every application gave an error:

Code:
koffice (lib kofficecore): ERROR: Couldn't find the native MimeType in kword's desktop file. Check your installation !
after much hacking and reorganising of files, I DID manage to get karbon to work, but then I found there's precious little documentation and even less tutorials/help available. Also, karbon crashes often and is missing some toolbar icons (so the buttons are blank). Pattern's don't work and many required features, such as being able to manipulate text, are missing. For someone accustomed to professional software like Adobe Illustrator/Macromedia freehand, this just won't do. [/rant]

To make a long story short I need 2 things.

1. How to get rid of Koffice from my computer when I didn't use an RPM?
2. I want to try Inkscape but it won't install on my machine (failed dependencies - Mandrake 9.2). Where can I get an older version of Inkscape?

Thanks very much for all your help.

Instead of spending six hours with failed dependencies and RPMs, spend one hour installing and configuring a Debian-based distro and just apt-get install and apt-get remove programs--all the dependencies are taken care of. There's even a GUI front-end for this called Synaptic.

I'd recommend Mepis or Ubuntu.
