help::has anyone compiled arc on slack9.1?

Has anyone ever gotten this to compile on slack9.1. I have done a lot of looking and have yet to see a success story. Does anyone know of a binary or package for slack out there?

I am posting the error:

gcc -O -DBSD=1 -c arcdos.c
arcdos.c:35: redefinition of `struct timeval'
make: *** [arcdos.o] Error 1

I removed the offending source lines and got a pointer declaration error from the next source file. This and slack seems to be a wreck together; but I figured what the heck; maybe I'll get lucky and someone else will have encountered this.

This is arc521 needed for amavis.

Thanks a bunch,
Tom

Have you tried looking here?

http://www.amavis.org/contrib/

About a quarter of the way down the page, there are two patches:

http://www.amavis.org/contrib/arc.diff.gz
http://www.amavis.org/contrib/arc521e.diff.gz

With the following description:
Code:
arc521.tar.Z does not compile on some systems. On Linux or *BSD, you should
be able to use either a binary package or a port. On other systems, apply
this patch:

 - extract arc:
   uncompress arc521.tar.Z
   mkdir arc
   cd arc
   tar xf ../arc521.tar
 - apply the patch:
   gunzip arc.diff.gz
   patch -p1 <arc.diff
 - make
Enjoy!

I appreciate the help and must apologize as well.

Yes, I am trying to compile patched source files.
