Having trouble with Java in Firefox

Hi there,
I'm having trouble loading the Java extension in Firefox, the error message I get on the Javascript console is:

Error: uncaught exception: [Exception... "Component returned failure code: 0x8000ffff (NS_ERROR_UNEXPECTED) [nsIPrefBranch.getBoolPref]" nsresult: "0x8000ffff (NS_ERROR_UNEXPECTED)" location: "JS frame :: chrome://mozfbrh/content/mozfbrh.js :: toggleAutoFillInURLBar :: line 402" data: no]

This prevents me from using the chat function and from printing shipping labels that I need for my ebay sells.
I can use Mozilla for these functions and do, but I perfer Firefox as it has more functions I can use than Mozilla. Any help would be apreciated.
