Question Having problems installing VNC for multiple users

Hi all.

I have a Linux server running CentOS 7. There are three users that use the server and they each need to launch their own individual session.

I found this tutorial:

https://linuxize.com/post/how-to-ins...c-on-centos-7/

And followed the instructions on setting up VNC Server.

Something I am having trouble with is that VNC apparently requires you to edit a config file and put in the individual user for each config. Then you start this service on the server. This seems like an administrative nightmare, so if a server has say 100 users would the admin need to physically go in to the configuration files and create a new file for each user? There must be a better way to do this that I have missed?

However it says at the bottom of the tutorial to set up multiple users by creating new config files for each user.

There is another server at work where the previous admin had set up vncserver so that any new user can just type in "vncserver" at the prompt and it creates a new, individual session for them. Then they go to VNC Viewer or another software, type in the IP and port and they are in. I cannot work out how he managed to do this though and he is no longer working here so I cannot ask him.

If anyone has experience setting this up and can give me some pointers I would really appreciate it.

I have played with xvnc but never tried multi user mode. This might help.

which vncserver on that server should tell you where the script they wrote is located, then you could read that script to see what it does. Just a thought.
