Having problem installing

I am very new at this I want to run Linux and windows. I understand that it is switched at boot-up. So here I am. I have downloaded Ubuntu 6.06. I have it burned to CD. When I try to install it wants to know what program. Do I choose from list on my PC? If I try to find one from the web I get to many chooses. What I am I doing wrong?

You do not install it from Windows. This is a bootable CD (if you burned it correctly).
