But there is an easy way. And clipboard too, but I think that requires guest additions.
Clipboard was easy once guest additions was done.

For the file transfer, I was able to make it work from the menu:
Machine -> File Manager

However, I am now curious about sftp. I would like to get that to work as well.

sshd fails to start. See its log for further information:

journalctl -u sshd
Note that journalctl truncates lines to the terminal width. One method to see full lines is to type -S (dash upper-case S, then Enter) while displaying the log.

Did you remove the old Extension Pack then adding the new (matching) one ?
