I have tried installing from source and rpm, but seem to be having some trouble the error message is as follows after typing "rpm -i gtk-gnutella-0.93.1-1.gtk1.i586.rpm"

Seems that you already has the gtk-gnutella-0.93-1 installed.

Either you will have to uninstall that first and then try to install the other package.

how do i uninstall ?

rpm -e gtk-gnutella

Maybe need to add version number 0.93
