GRUB issue; splash screen not centered

This isn't a severe issue just an aggravating one. I have a 15' lcd monitor and when the grub splash screen appears, its larger than normal and off-centered. Once it starts to boot, everything shows up as it should

Note: If I hit the "auto" button on the side of my monitor, it will center and fit the splash screen beautifully.

Here is my grub.conf:
Code:
default 0
timeout 10
splashimage=(hd0,2)/boot/grub/splash.xpm.gz

title=Windows XP
rootnoverify (hd0,0)
makeactive
chainloader +1

title=Gentoo Linux
root (hd0,2)
kernel /boot/linux-2.6.15 root=/dev/hda3 ro video=vesafb-tng:mtrr,ywrap,1024x768-32@60
My vid card is nvidia and I have the ndvidia drivers working correctly. Any ideas?

The problem is that the grub screen is using a different horizontal and/or vertical frequency (lower resolution screen) than your normal operating session.

Most LCD monitors have the ability to save multiple configurations (for different h/v sync and refresh). Check your monitor documentation. You usually just need to run the auto configure and save on the monitor.

i've been running FC4 kernel 2.6.12-1456 for 6 months without any problem. I just tried to installed ndiswrapper and bcmwl5 driver for Motorola WN825G. everything seems fine until i reboot the machine. After reboot, the display is all blurry and i am unable to to anything. is there anyway to back out of this mess? Thanks

nguyeko You would be better served opening a new thread. Posting a non-related question to an existing thread will "bury it".
