Are the rippers installed? You need either cdparanoia (best but slowest) or cdda2wav installed for rippers, also if you want to make mp3/ogg, you will need an encoder installed as well (oggenc, lame, etc).

Grip is just a clicky-clicky front end to the real tools.

# cdparanoia - search for a drive with reporting of autosense:
cdparanoia -vsQ
# Rip a complete audio CD with cdparanoia
cdparanoia -B "1-"

I thought cdparanoia came with grip. It's in one of the options in the rip configs section and selected.

i re-installed the cdparanoia with ./configure && make all && make install and still nothing happens. I have lame as the mps encoder. I get this error with the cdparanoia -vsQ command...

cdparanoia: error while loading shared libraries: libcdda_interface.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Can i make a gnomeConf.sh file and insert it into /usr/local/lib? I am getting an error when trying to install grip-3.0.7...

configure: error: Could not find the gnomeConf.sh file that is generated by gnome-libs install

I tried installling glibs-2.2.3 with no luck.

If i can make a gnomeConf.sh could you tell me what should be in it? Never seen one before
