gnome-panel crash

Hi. Everytime I log in under gnome, the panel crashes. A dialog appears complaining about processes crashing. When I dismiss one, another appears with the same message, but a different process id.

Anyway, after ten or twenty of these they stop and the panel dissapears (which didn't have any icons on it).

I've tried installing and uninstalling gnome-panel. Exactly the same result though.

I really don't like kde. I personally find it very cluttered looking. I'm continuing to use gnome, but without the panel Which is a little more awkward but preferrable.

I think the problem happened since I installed xdoom. It crashed my system and I had to pull the plug.
