Gnome: force applications always to open in the same virtual desktop/workspaces

Hello

I'm using Gnome at the moment, on Ubuntu .

I have 4 virtual desktops (possibily called workspaces ?) with Gnome, and I use them all for seperate things.
1: for local shells
2. for internet browsing, gaim, emails etc
3. for local apps (word processing, gimp etc)
4. for remote shells and VNC/remote desktop

At the moment, I don't like the fact that, if I'm in desktop 1 and I open up open office, it opens in the desktop which is active. I was wondering if there was a way to automatically make applications open in a certain desktop, regardless of which desktop is active.

Is this possible?

Thanks
Hamish
