glib installing wrong
I'm trying to install the gramps genealogy software. However, gramps requires python, which in turn requires gtk, which in turn requires glib. Now I've configured, made, and installed the most recent release of glib. Problem is that gtk isn't seeing it and I get an error when I run configure.
I've had this problem before, where I configure, make, and install something and it still won't be recognized by the program that needs it. By any chance, is there a list out there of all the libraries commonly used by linux so I can just download them all at once. I hate trying to install a new program just to find out it requires some library that I don't have, which in turn needs three other libraries I don't have.
