Hey-
is there not a way to flip individual selections in GIMP 2.0? I'm trying to do a horizontal flip of one layer, and when i choose "Flip Horizontal", it flips the entire image.. This is something that i have been able to do in virtually every other image editing app.. Surely they didt leave it out. I have Photoshop 7 running with Wine, but i'm trying to learn to appreciate the linux apps.
haven't tried gimp 2.0, but i've just checked using gimp 1.2.5 - i think, if i've understood you correctly, that you need to make sure that the layer you wish to flip is currently active for editing.
well, to check, what i did was draw a squiggle on one layer, create a new layer, draw another squiggle. then i clicked on the 'flip' tool, and sure enough, it flipped only the active layer.
but i'm certainly no expert, and may have misunderstood you!
