Question gftp: "Error 20:unable to get local issuer certificate"

Hello. I am trying to connect to an https server with gftp, and i get the following message:
Error with certificate at depth: 1
Issuer = /C=US/ incorp. by ref. (limits liab.)/OU=(c) 1999 Limited/ Secure Server Certification Authority
Subject = /C=US/O=DigiCert Inc/ Global CA
Error 20:unable to get local issuer certificate
I can connect via konquerer in slackware. I have tried googling in vain; does anyone know how to fix this? This is using zenwalk btw.
