Gentoo whon't boot at start up for installtion


i don't know why but for some reason the iso of Gentoo i downloaded whon't boot at start up :S please help i downloaded it from Gentoo


with Gentoo but i have used Mandrake for 2 years now but i wanted to try something new

My guess is that you incorrectly burned the iso file. If you view the disk's content do you see one .iso file or a bunch of files and directories?

What happens exactly? Did you change your BIOS to boot from the cdrom? Does it spin the disk at all?

If you've burned the disk correctly then something in your bios isn't looking for cd-roms at boot up.

I agreed with crashed_again. Check your bios and also make sure that if yours has different devices listed in order in which it checks them that your cdrom drive is listed before your hard drive.

my CD-ROM drive is before my HD the disk i brunned it works find for botting on my uncles computer :S

i'lll look agin though

Is your cdrom drive broken? Its the only possible explanation.

how can we help you if you don't actually tell us what happens? "it don't work" isn't much use...
