So to surmise my issue I've installed all the ganglia packages on a VM to test before deploying them to my server and everything worked as should. However when I installed them on my server I'm seeing my httpd logs the following:

ERROR: opening '/var/lib/ganglia/rrds/test/_SummaryINfo_/cpu_num.rrd;: No such file or directory

ERROR: invalid rpn expression in: 0


this error repeats for every stat that ganglia is trying to create and rrd for.


So my versions are:

ganglia-gmond-3.7.2-2.el6.x86_64
ganglia-web-3.7.1-2.el6.x86_64
ganglia-3.7.2-2.el6.x86_64

So I had the mcast_join = set to the eth0 interface when I reverted it back to the default mcast address it worked fine.
