Unhappy

Hi
i recently installed mandrake 7.2 on my laptop, and its been workin great

theres one lil problem though.. it didnt install g++
i took a peek around on the cd, and it looks like theres a bunch o the rpm's or whatever for installing it, but i have no idea how to do it.
I dont suppose theres some magical way to make mandrake do it for me?
If anyone could help me out it would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know if Mandrake comes with the rpm-manager program but check with:

# man rpm

In case it is, this would give you a manual page about it. If rpm is installed in your system then here are some quick and useful commandlines.

# rpm -i <package.rpm>
would install <package>

# rpm -qip <package.rpm>
would give you a short description of what the uninstalled package <package> include.

# rpm -qilp <package.rpm>
Also list the included files.

Then there's of course teh GUI way of doing it. Use GnoRPM from GNOME to install/query etc.
