FTP software for Mandrake 9.1

hi all, i am about to set up a linux box for the first time. i want to use it as a firewall for my win. xp system and also run it 24/7 as an FTP server. i was wondering if anyone would be kind enough to offer suggestions for FTP server software. i am currently looking at vsftp and proftp.

Proftp is easier to setup. But I hear vsftp is more secure.
