Frozen Bubble Trouble

After I compiled Frozen Bubble from source along with it's required Perl-related libraries I get this error:

do you have perl-sdl installed?

SDL perl 1.19.0 - yes. I installed it right before I installed Frozen Bubble. Along with SDL mixer and SDL image. Not to mention SDL as well

well i've got 1.18 and it works fine, and i've not got that missing file... maybe downgrade.. but i can't see any references at all on google for newfont.al...

You might need to run ldconfig to update the libs if needed.

Also, try running frozen-bubble as a regular user, it might not run as root for some reason.

Just some ideas.

Did you install SDL, [smpeg], SDL_mixer, SDL_image, SDL_perl in this order?

My distro is slack 8.1, im trying to install the ported package for slack..

Install all the SDL stuff one after one. Must fix the problem. It was long time ago i installed it and i don't remember the way i fix this problem.
