all i see is "Flowplayer with ffserver".
it tries to load something but never gets there (the browser's spinner is active until it times out after 5min or so).
trying to access the video source directly does the same. i.e., i cannot open 198.91.92.112:8090/test.webm
i suspect this has nothing to do with video streaming, but with permissions or port forwarding or firewall settings.
once you get THAT solved, why don't you just use html5? https://www.w3schools.com/html/html5_video.asp
yeah the stream was down because my broadband went up and down like a yoyo during the night, I can only put that down to my isp doing maintenance. Typical. This also caused ffserver to give up. The previous url should be working now. Following your advice I also knocked up a html5 page as per the link you gave: http://198.91.92.112/stream/flowplayer/index3a.html? The video worked fine for me. I have to do some extra work to ensure the stream stays up but I'll have to do that later.
ps: where abouts in the world are you?
ok, I did a search on google but could find hardly anything regarding Fennec f-droid. Does fennec refer to a custom OS? I see now I need a phone with android 4 or above. My samsung is only on 2.3 so its no wonder I can't see video playing on it. I can play files on it but not a live stream. As soon as I get some funds I'll have to get a newer phone. Thankyou for your help throughout this thread.

no, it's a rebranded firefox from f-droid.
strangely, i can't find it myself now, but it's on gitlab.
i guess it's about the same as firefox for android, or icecat mobile.
the os is rooted plain android.
