fopen: No such file or directory


i need fopen for running a program
can it be that slack 10.1 is lacking fopen?
how can i get it?
are there any replacements?

the fopen function is present as far as i know on all POSIX compliant systems (that includes Linux) as well as anything else that is compliant with ANSI C which is like everything else.

your problem is not that you are lacking fopen()
explain what you are trying to do further

Did you install glibc package, not just glibc-solibs ?

glibc 2.3.4 is present

im trying to run a program called perlbox-voice.
when i run the program from the terminal i get the following message upon trying to 'start the listener'
"fopen: No such file or directory"
'the listener' is (im guessing) a part of another program called sphinx2.

the program is a voice recognition program..
the strange thing is that i cant get the same error running sphinx2 seperately
