FluxBox default permissions

Does anyone know how to change the default permissions on a newly created file when using fluxbox?

I assume I have to run a umask command when starting a fluxbox session, but where? I tried putting one in .fluxbox/init without success.

Dosn't seem to effect fluxbox if I put it in /etc/profiles either.

Any suggestions?

What do you mean? It'll get the permissions your user has. So your user will be the owner etc. Do you use any other programs for file management etc. than a console window?

For any program run from fluxbox, OpenOffice, Gimp whatever.

I would like to be able to set the default perrmissions that are applied to a file saved from these programs.

At the moment, any file I save can be read by anyone. I would like to change that.

Preferably not by chmodding every file I save thank you very much :P
