I am trying to get some different themes for Firefox 1.0.4 and am having a really hard time. I go here and select a theme and click Install Now. All that does is ask me to save a .jar file. Nothing is installed.

After a little hunting on the subject, I discovered that I need an extension called "Themer". So I found that here. But that won't install either.

When I click the link that says "Install", the extension installation window pops up. It shows themer.xpi on the list to be installed and 2 buttons at the bottom; cancel and Install Now. I clicked "Install now." When I did that the installation window closed and the extensions window popped up. But there are no extensions listed in the window. There are three buttons at the bottom of the window. Uninstall, Update, and Options. The only button I can click is the "Update" button. I click it and nothing happens.

I can't install the themes and I can't install the extension I need to install the themes.

I found this thread and tried everything suggested and nothing worked. Can anybody help me out? Much Appreciated.

Running: Mandriva 2005 LE, Firefox 1.0.4

Download the theme you like to any directory. Then go to tools->themes and drag the jar file to the themes window.

Tried it. When I drag the .jar file into the themes window, nothing happens. Usually. About one out of every 8 times doing that, however, it pops up a little window that saysInstall the theme "theme.jar" from (location)? I click "OK" and the window goes away and we're back to where we started. Still nothing on the list of themes. The "Update" button in the themes window still does nothing.
