Firefox presents wierd error

My buddy and I are trying to install Firefox onto his laptop (Averatec 3700 Series - AV3715-ED1) running Debian sarge stable 3.6.

The deb package installs without any issues via aptitude, but when I try to run it, I get this error:
Code:
Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server
Xlib: XDM authorization key matches an existing client!

(firefox-bin:3271): Gtk-WARNING **: cannot open display:
What does this error mean, and how can we go about fixing it?
