Firefox font issue with Firefox 3

I am running Debian Lenny, and just installed Firefox 3 (the mozilla version).
In firefox 2, when it was set for websites to choose their own fonts, everything was normal.
However in firefox 3, most of the fonts are invisible. (See screenshot below)
Now I can select the text, copy it, and paste it into Open Office Writer and it displays fine.
It displays fine if I uncheck "websites choose their own fonts," however this makes some websites look wierd. Any one experience this?

Do you know if this is only a problem on LCD (desktop or laptop) can you test on CRT. You might need to change you monitor settings.

Ok. I think I have an idea of what the problem is. Just to see, I ran Firefox as root. (Dumb Idea, I know). However everything was fine, even with Websites choose their own fonts. So I created a new user (system user) and tried that. That had the same problem.
So obviously the fonts are on my system. being I had random permission changes before ( with the timezone file. was interesting.) So I am guessing the permissions got changed
Now I guess I just need different ideas and information on font location.
