Finding xvideo adapter in Ubuntu 12.04

2014-08-16

In connection with debugging a 'No Available XVideo Adapter' VLC problem, I would like to know how to find the xvideo adapter in my Ubuntu 12.04 computer. Do 'XVideo Adapter' and 'graphics card' mean the same in Linux?

Any help will be appreciated.

The XVideo adapter is a type of driver used for video output. This message usually means that your videocard is not configured correctly.
