FileZilla connetion time is slow

I am working on FriendlyARM board for development. Qtopia 2.2.0 running on it. And this board uses ftpd server.

My problem is when I try to connect this board using FileZilla, the connection got stuck after display following message for around 18-19 sec.

"Status: Connection established, waiting for welcome message..."

The log is show below,
Code:
    Status: Connecting to 192.168.1.230:21...

Status: Connection established, waiting for welcome message...

Response: 220 FriendlyARM FTP server (Version 6.4/OpenBSD/Linux-ftpd-0.17) ready.

    Command: USER root

Response: 331 Password required for root.

    Command: PASS **

Response: 230 User root logged in.

    Command: SYST

Response: 215 UNIX Type: L8 (Linux)

    Command: FEAT

Response: 500 'FEAT': command not understood.

    Status: Connected

    Status: Retrieving directory listing...

    Command: PWD

Response: 257 "/" is current directory.

    Command: TYPE I

Response: 200 Type set to I.

    Command: PASV

Response: 227 Entering Passive Mode (192,168,1,230,147,156)

    Command: LIST

Response: 150 Opening BINARY mode data connection for '/bin/ls'.

    Response: 226 Transfer complete.

    Status: Directory listing successful
My question is why FileZilla took time to connect vsftpd server.

Maybe it's the same as when connecting to a host using ssh and the host not having its own name "e.g. "greatpc" in "/etc/hosts"?
In such a case sshd on the target host (probably) attempts a dns resolve for its own name "greatpc" and will wait for a while before giving up and allowing the login.
(ok, maybe it's about the IP of the host that is trying to connect - don't remember anymore - in any case it could be about the missing entry in /etc/hosts for the source or target host)
