File upload/download control/monitoring software?

Hi,

I know little bit of running a firewall (e.g. Smoothwall Express) and enabling/restricting internet access for pc-s in internal network, but is there a way to control files allowed to leave/enter (www,mail,etc) the internal network?

A solution or software running on linux (can be commercial)?
