File restore on the windows partition of a dual-boot machine?
Please help save my marriage!
Well, maybe things aren't as desperate as all that, but I do have some photos of our honeymoon that I seem to have deleted, and it would bring much peace to my home if I could get them back. Here's the scoop - I have an older PC dual booting Windows and Linux (suse 9.0). The Windows partition doesn't get much use but, as I happened into a free copy of XP thorugh a class, I figured i might as well upgrade the thing. Of course I did do a backup, but I realized after I installed XP that there were some photos in there I really would love to have back. Linux can see across the partition, is there a Linux utility that will peek over and do some sort of deep drive scan to look and see if those files are still there and recoverable? Any suggestions are welcome, even something that I have to buy and run on the Windows side.
Thanks a lot,
Alex
