ffmpeg on centos

I currently took over a web server that was configured prior to me taking it over and ffmpeg was installed with a set of external encoding libraries.

I would like to add a couple more encoding libraries (--enable-libvorbis --enable-libvpx ), is there a way to add these to the existing config or will I need to re-compile ffmpeg to add these? and if i do have to re-compile, can anyone help guide me as to how to do this?

here is the current config for ffmpeg:

configuration: --prefix=/usr --libdir=/usr/lib --shlibdir=/usr/lib --mandir=/usr/share/man --incdir=/usr/include --disable-avisynth --extra-cflags='-O2 -g -pipe -Wall -Wp,-D_FORTIFY_SOURCE=2 -fexceptions -fstack-protector --param=ssp-buffer-size=4 -m32 -march=i386 -mtune=generic -fasynchronous-unwind-tables' --enable-avfilter --enable-avfilter-lavf --enable-libdirac --enable-libfaac --enable-libfaad --enable-libfaadbin --enable-libgsm --enable-libmp3lame --enable-libopencore-amrnb --enable-libopencore-amrwb --enable-libx264 --enable-gpl --enable-nonfree --enable-postproc --enable-pthreads --enable-shared --enable-swscale --enable-vdpau --enable-version3 --enable-x11grab
libavutil 50.15. 1 / 50.15. 1
libavcodec 52.72. 2 / 52.72. 2
libavformat 52.64. 2 / 52.64. 2
libavdevice 52. 2. 0 / 52. 2. 0
libavfilter 1.19. 0 / 1.19. 0
libswscale 0.11. 0 / 0.11. 0
libpostproc 51. 2. 0 / 51. 2. 0

any help is greatly appreciated.

Cent WHAT??
centOS 5.8 or 6.3 ONLY these two are currently supported

and in 6.3 the ffmpg IS the multithread one

unless you are ONLY managing it for someone else
i would do a new clean reinstall to remove any "oopses" , " mistakes" and "backdoors" that are installed

but if you MUST stay with someone else's install of some "unknown " version of cent
then rebuild ffmpeg
but installing random unknown versions of programs on an unknown version of a OS will cause big problems

it is CentOS 5.7, and I am managing for someone else, and that is my hesitation. So a rebuild would be the wisest choice?

Thanks

5.7 is nolonger supported
you NEED to upgrade to 5.8

or

have them install RHEL and pay to stay at 5.7 ( this way you WILL get security fixes)

your yum mirrors are now broken and have a notice to upgrade or edit your repos to point to the archives ( but the archives will NEVER get any security updates)

if you ARE staying at the DEAD 5.7 version then building form source IS THE ONLY choice
you might as well uninstall yum - you will not be using it .
