Question fedora is it possible to boot using a CD?

Hi is it possible to boot using a CD without using a live CD like a boot dick in windows?

I do have fedora 8 on my system, but need to start from CD.

O and I found a sight with boot from a floppy but I don't know if this will work cause it looks like Id need to know what I'm booting like commands are not automatic,
And I don't know if this would even work,
But this is the sight http://fedora-tn.org/?q=node/119

One can create a boot CD by using the mkbootdisk command, see man mkbootdisk for the details. As root type for example;

mkbootdisk --device boot.iso --iso `uname -r`
Note; that is the backtick character (above the Tab key) in the command not the single quotemark.

Burn the boot.iso file to the CD media using cdrecord or k3b or????

number 1, can you boot fedora?
number 2, do you have a cd-rw drive?
number 3, do you have a cd-r or cd-rw disk?
number 4, can you follow word for word instructions?

The command man mkbootdisk is the link to the manpage (manual) for mkbootdisk, open an xterm session or from the virtual console type this command. This same xterm session or virtual console can be used to type the command to create the bootable CD iso9660 image file named boot.iso in my earlier reply. You need to be root to create the boot.iso file.
