I followed some instructions from a google search and got feather linux installed onto my jumpdrive, but I can not get it to boot up correctly. It seems to work fine until right after it enters run level 5. I tried a couple options from the boot: prompt and found that it was hanging on the xauth: creating xauthority, or something similar to that. Is this a reference to Xwindow? I have tried multiple display settings, but none have worked so far. What do I do to get it to boot all the way up?

I am not positive on the specs of this computer, but I was hoping to be able to load feather linux on a variety of computers, not just my personal one ( at least that is my goal).

Xauthority does have to do with Xwindow. You might try booting into runlevel 2 or 3 (no graphics) and see what you can do from there. Usually following the boot command (puppylinux or whatever it is) by a 2 or 3 will do this. Then try giving "startx" (without the quotes) to start graphics and see what happens.
