FC5- Driver Problem on my Wireless Card 802.11g

Hello everybody, my first (newbie) post on your beautiful forum.

So, i installed Fedora Core 5 on my laptop Toshiba Satellite SA10-S811. My Ethernet Lan card works great.

I have a 802.11g Wireless Card of the company "Level One" model WPC-0300. I was using this W.C on XP before without any problems.

Now that i've installed FC5 i can't find any drivers for my wir.card . I've tried using the XP drivers using the program ndiswrapper .. but for an unknown (to me) reason the system reboots everytime i try to install the drivers of Windows using ndiswrapper..

Some friend told me maybe its the W.card's problem, and that maybe i should buy another Wir. Card that drivers exist for..

Any ideas? The truth is I am a bit frustrated I would prefer not to buy another w.card just to make it work on my linux.. i would prefer it to work..

but i am asking you much more experienced users to make sure there is no other solution for me..

I repeat my wireless card is Level One 802.11g (PCMCIA) model WPC-0300 ..

I've been in your shoes. I had an Intel 3945ABG that I could never get to work right. Ended up putting in a Broadcom and running ndiswrapper.
Anyway, I did a quick search on your card, and it seems to be an Atheros chipset. This would use the madwifi drivers. Here's a list for Ubuntu that shows your card:

Hopefully that will get you nudged in the right direction.

thanks for your attention & help..

i finally got my wireless card working(yesterday evening).

the solution was a combination of software updates via the automatic software updates, the selection of all wireless options on the same spot,

+ the installation of the MadWifi drivers
and a lot of efforts to finally make it work..

now i surf with wireless on linux and its cool!
