Eye of Gnome and deleting files

EOG 2.28.2 on CentOS 6...

As I PgUp/PgDn though a collections of images I wish to delete some of them. If I press the Del key EOG will ask me
Quote:
Are you sure you want to move [filename] to the trash?
and then I am offered
Quote:
[ ] Do not ask again during this session
I would prefer to really delete the files but the Trash option will work. However, EOG seems to define "session" as the current instantiation of the application, not my login session. That is, if I close and re-launch EOG I must check the selection box again.

Can this bahavior be changed so that the option will be more permanent?

Or is there a better image viewer with which to flip through a bunch of files to do some quick culling?

TIA,

Ken
