eth0 blocks Wlan0 (ndiswrapper)

Hi,

New to linux, so probably a simple question (?).
Managed to get my wireless NIC working using ndiswrapper (as provided with Suse Linux 9.3). But there's something odd; before wlan0 is able to access the router, after any (re)boot I have to " shut down" both the wired and wireless NIC and restart wlan0. So type the command sequence;

ifdown eth0
ifdown wlan0
ifup wlan0

Is a specific "starting sequence" required and if so, how/where to specify?

Regards

Rik

eth0 blocks wlan0

In the meantime found a workaround (not a solution) in the article " Using NdisWrapper with SuSE 9.1/9.2/9.3, Oct 3, 2004" Filed under: linux wireless — sjmk|dot|net @ 22:19 (thanks for that)

Simulair to the article added the line

POST_UP_SCRIPT=/etc/sysconfig/network/scripts/wlan0_upworking

to (in my case) the file ifcfg-wlan-pci-0000:02 in /etc/sysconfig/network.

The script itself;

#
sleep 1
ifdown eth0
ifdown wlan0
ifup wlan0
sleep 1
ifup eth0

Which works perfect.

Perhaps may help others.
