Hi Guys


I have installed snort-2.4.3-1 on my redhat 9 machine.But when i try to install postgres for it it give me following error
#rpm -ivh snort-postgresql-2.4.3-1.RH8.i386.rpm
error: Failed dependencies:
libpq.so.2 is needed by snort-postgresql-2.4.3-1

Secondly when i start snortd by
#service snortd start
it goves ok but in /var/log/messeges it gives following error

FATAL ERROR: Unable to open rules file: /etc/snort/rules/local.rules or /etc/snort//etc/snort/rules/local.rules


Can you guys tell me whre can i find the dependency and how can i resolve the above error in messeges

Snort expects a local rulefile at
/etc/snort/rules/local.rules
but it doesn't seem to be there.

Check out the snort configuration file (/etc/snort/rules.conf?) and comment out the line if you don't want the local rules.
