Error on SuSE 9 when using Oracle dbca

I am trying to create my first Oracle database in a new instance on SuSE 9.

I'm using the dbca tool, and everything seems fine until I press 'FINISH'.

The dbca program termintes and the error I see from the command prompt where I typed dbca is as follows:

oracle@linux:/usr/local/Oracle> dbca
/usr/local/Oracle/bin/dbca: line 124: 2314 Killed $JRE_DIR/bin/jre -DORACLE_HOME=$OH -DJDBC_PROTOCOL=thin -mx64m -classpath $CLASSPATH oracle.sysman.assistants.dbca.Dbca $ARGUMENTS

Has anyone encountered a similar problem before?

Thanks,

Sean

Re: Error on SuSE 9 when using Oracle dbca

I found this at http://lists.suse.com/archive/suse-o...Oct/0132.html, which did the trick for me.

<edited>
... try this :
edit the file $ORACLE_HOME/bin/dbca
go to the last 7 lines
comment all the last 7 lines, but the third.

It looks like this:
# if...
# RUN DBCA ...
$JRE_DIR/bin/jre ...
# else
# RUN DBCA
# $JRE_DIR
# fi
this works for me. I can create a database using the dbca.
