Error after Slackware 9.1 install

After installing Slackware 9.1 on an MSI P4 board running a P4/2.4GHz 533FSB and rebooting I come across an error somehow involving :

/etc/modules.conf is more recent than (something or rather .dep).

It just hangs from there. I do not have the system with me at my workstation, so I dont have the exact error, but its just been hanging there for hours and I cant seem to find anyway around it.

Ideas?

Here is the exact error:

modprobe: Note: /etc/modules.conf is more recent than /lib/modules/2.4.22/modules.dep
