entrance + openbox + gentoo
Ok, here's the deal. I installed entrance (an advanced replacement of xdm, gdm, kdm) by doing emerge -av entrance. entrance installed without a hitch. As per all the howto's I found I then changed my display manager in rc.conf to 'DISPLAYMANAGER="entrance"' and also ran 'rc-update add entrace default'.
When I reboot I get the entrance log in screen and can log in no problems. I can even log into openbox. Where my trouble lies is that openbox doesn't seem to run the ~/.xinitrc file if booted via/through entrance. As a result I don't have my wallpaper, dock-apps nor startup programs.
Does anyone know of a way that I can force the ~/.xinitrc file to be read and used when openbox starts? It works fine when I'm not using entrance.
Thanks for your time.
