DVD burning software

Hi

I've mainly come from doing this sort of thing on desktop systems like Mac and PC, since I now have (for the first time) a Linux box at home (rather than a Solaris box unavailable to me at work) I was just after something t to use the DVD burner in the box to do stuff like:
  • make copies of data DVD's (which are backups of digital camera RAW files)
  • burn DVDs of Nero images made by DVD Shrink

My os is an older redhat 2.6.9 kernel

Thanks :-)

In your multimedia menu, look for cd/dvd burning tools. You should see K3b listed.

Search via www.google.com/linux, and you will probably find others.

k3b is fully featured and pretty easy to use. The only drawback is that it needs the kde libraries, so if you have limited space and do not already have the KDE libs installed, it might be a pain.

I use the K3B software to burn all my DVD stuff.

Check it and give it a chance

mkisofs and growisofs work for me. If you want something graphical either K3b (Qt) or Brasero (GTK) works swell.
