The short answer is YES. I have a dual boot capability: Linux Mint and Windows 10.
Concerning the UEFI partition, I have not really looked into it. However, there are actually two places where you can choose which OS you wish to boot into.
When first booting, you can enter the UEFI dialogue which gives the option of Windows BIOS or the Mint BIOS. I have left it with booting into Mint BIOS.
After the computer exits the UEFI dialogue and begins to actually boot, GRUB kicks in and you again have the opportunity to select which OS you wish to boot. It is at this point where I make the actual selection.
PS: From what I have read and done, turn secure mode
OFF. But things change. You may want to research this issue prior to installing your Linux distribution.
