Dropped packets

Hey all, i have and IBM t60 with a atheros wireless card. I've been having problems with packets being dropping.. I have no idea what to do, any ideas?

try changing the wifi channel used by the router. where I live has been over run with wifi access points in the last 12 months and I have to keep finding a clear channel.
